Your byproduct is the exhaust gas. How to deal with it?
The exhaust gas discharged from a membrane unit is applicable as the fuel gas for own technical needs. For example for generation of thermal or electric energy.
Your byproduct is the block sulphur. How to deal with it?
Elemental sulphur extracted through the LPO technology is different from the sulphur generated through other processes. Block sulphur is formed in the water solution, and does not contain trapped H2S vapors, which might accelerate in further processing.

The LPO sulphur is removed in process in the form of a «filter cake», which consists of about 65% of sulphur and 35% of LPO dilute solution. Moist content in the sulphur provides for low dust generation in use.

Such sulphur is not ecologically harmful and has a beneficial effect on microbial activities in soil. It can be used as a fertilizer in the farming industry, an additive in sulphur bituminous concrete production, or simply buried.

What is the service life of membrane cartridges?
The operational life of membrane modules depends on operational environment and applications. The operational life of membranes also depends on reliability and efficiency of feed gas preconditioning systems.

Russian and foreign companies operate membrane equipment from different manufacturers. Their long experience proves that operation life of membranes without replacement is not less than 7−10 years when proper operation conditions are provided to the plants.

In course of membrane plants operation, partial deterioration of membranes, i.e. efficiency loss is possible. That should be noted on the stage of membranes manufacturer selection and design engineering of the plant.

Adsorption (hydrogen sulphide trapping by solid sorbents)
application of physical properties of some metastructured solid materials prone to extract certain components from a gas mixture and to accumulate them on their surfaces.

Amine scrubbing
gas mixture stripping of hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide compounds by aqueous amine solutions followed by recovery of the solution and generation of concentrated hydrogen sulphide flow.

Liquid-phase oxidation (LPO)
Liquid-phase oxygenation of hydrogen sulphide is an adsorption (liquid) redox system, where chelate iron solution is applied for H2S conversion into non-hazardous elementary sulphur.

Membrane technology
the principle of membrane gas separation is based on different rates of gas mixture components permeation through selective layer of the membrane due to differential of partial pressures on both sides of the membrane.

Alkali purification
a chemosorption method of gas stripping of hydrogen sulphide and mercaptanes with alkali solutions.

Claus process
a process of catalytic oxidative conversion of hydrogen sulphide with generation of market-grade sulphur.

Amine scrubbing + Claus process
a complex method applying amine scrubbing of gas mixture containing H2S, and further production of the market-grade sulphur from the exhaust gasflow through the Claus process.
